Tomas joins Cardinal with experience in several areas of law, including workers compensation as well as customs and international trade. This versatility as project manager allows him to approach patent-related matters with both traditional methods and non-traditional methods.

Prior to joining Cardinal, Tomas was an associate at Hoey and Farina PC . While in law school, he spent a summer working abroad in a law firm in Santiago Chile, where he gained insight into that country's legal system. Prior to law school, Tomas worked as an interpreter for the court system and as a paralegal at a workers' compensation firm in Chicago. Both of these opportunities allowed him to gain experience using both Spanish and English in court situations and with client cases.

He earned his J.D. from DePaul University and a B.S. in General Engineering at the University of Illinois-Urbana.

Tomas is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and he is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

He is a member of the Illinois Bar Association.
