Jason comes to Cardinal with several years of experience in patent prosecution and patent litigation. He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in numerous technical areas, including the life sciences, nanotechnology, and business methods. His background also includes laboratory research in neurobiology. As a registered patent attorney, Jason is perfectly suited to be Cardinal's Project Manager. His understanding of both law and technology enables him to efficiently assess the needs of clients and provide estimates. His experience has given him the ability to see projects through to completion and for extensive follow ups and explanations.

Prior to joining Cardinal, Jason worked at Beem Patent Law Firm in downtown Chicago, where he advised clients on patent prosecution and patent litigation matters. Before that, as a technology transfer associate at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Jason negotiated intellectual property provisions of University contracts and assisted in the selection of inventions for patent protection and management of the University patent portfolio. His technical experience includes designing and conducting experiments investigating neurotransmitter action and overt behavior in electric fish.

Jason earned his J.D. and his B.S. in Biology from Creighton University. He further earned an LL.M. in International Intellectual Property Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law and is working currently on his Master of Biology in Biotechnology at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Jason is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is also a member of the bar for the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

Active in the legal community, Jason is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
