Tim brings extensive experience in intellectual property to Cardinal IP. His background and education make him highly adaptable with specialties in business methods, biomedical devices, computer systems and software, and video processing.

He has prosecuted more than 100 patent applications, including several appeals to the Board of Patent Appeals. His experience includes the drafting of licensing agreements, conducting validity searches as well as preparation and filing of numerous copyright and trademark applications.

Prior to joining Cardinal, Tim worked for the U.S. Department of Energy and held a partnership at McAndrews, Held and Malloy.

He earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. He also holds an MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Engineering from Marquette University.

Tim is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and as an agent before the Canadian Patent Office. He is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals.
